Our new featured home project is right in line with the economic times we find ourselves in. This client had to decide between purchasing an all new home, building a home, or finding the right home to renovate. After looking at several prospects with the client, we recommended the purchase of this property because it had all the ingredients to upgrade to what they wanted and add-on to get the additional features they needed.

This renovation really cuts right to the definition of an updated residence for modern family living. We've taken the kitchen from an old confined room to an open and integrated living space with cooking, eating, dining, and living all in the same space. This was accomplished by removing some key walls and adding on to bridge a space that was previously a patio between the kitchen and the garage.

The former living space behind the garage was converted to a full featured laundry room behind the garage right off the kitchen with a great mud room for entry. The kitchen was master minded in part by Kitchen Ideas, LLC in conjunction with Powers Design & Build and features the latest innovations and function concepts in that space.

The existing upstairs baths needed a complete re-plumb and update which we are doing as well as adding Marvin replacement windows throughout, additional lighting, and much needed insulation in the walls and ceilings; thus completely refinishing the upper floor.

The original living room opened into the kitchen with doors to the outdoor living area, which is now the new 'media' room.
Last but not least is the construction of the new master suite! The office opens off the media room with front and rear 3-panel French Doors for a commanding view of the property. The study flows into the master hallway. This master suite has great features; the closet being 12x16 has everything a closet should from storage space including a hidden ironing board, luggage storage, packing peninsula, seat, and larger mirrors to including excellent lighting and a nice window schedule. The master bath shows off heated natural floors, shower and wainscot, and a pedestal tub centered on the large picture window. The master shower is equipped with steam, bench seat, overhead as well as wall shower heads, frame-less glass, large shampoo recess and an 8 foot ceiling. The master bedroom sports a 16x20 floor space, a large window schedule, reading lighting over the bed, vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors throughout. We used custom 8 foot doors in this area.
